Welcome To Children Of Nigeria's Blog.
I am outraged by the way the children are treated. Labeled as witches by Evangelical pastors to extort money from their parents. Starved, tortured, abandoned and even killed because their parents are afraid. Something needs to be done about this. This needs to stop! PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING THE PETITIONS FOR THE CHILDREN.
Thank you for visiting.

A NON Governmental Organization (NGO), Steeping Stones Nigeria, has called on Nigeria Videos and Films Regulatory Board to ban all home video films that promote children stigmatization.
Addressing the media in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, after presenting a petition to the state governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, on how some children are being abandoned by their parents because they are presumed to be 'witches', the Programs Director, Gary Foxcroft, said, "the petition was signed by over 1,000 people from over 30 countries around the world."
Speaking specifically on films such as End of the Wicked, The Coven and others produced by the Liberty Foundation Ministries, Foxcroft stressed that the Federal Government should outlaw such films.
While saying that watching of these films has led to the society carrying out jungle justice on innocent children, Foxcroft noted that parents now abandon their children for fear of being lynched or seen as encouraging children who have been pronounced as witches by their churches.
Foxcroft noted that while they would not want to embarrass the state government, the vast majority of the international community see what is happening in Akwa Ibom State where innocent children are being labeled as 'witches', set on fire, buried alive or macheted to death due to this insinuations, as something that must not be tolerated in the 21st Century.
The NGO, which is based in Eket and working in partnership with Child Rights and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN), also called on the state governor to help protect such children.
Foxcroft added, "we therefore call upon His Excellency to do everything in his power to help these children and protect their rights by ensuring that Child's Rights Act is passed into law before the end of the year."
The NGO said despite such challenges as lack of funds to cater for more than 150 children in their rehabilitation camp, lack of support from immediate communities and threat to life by some church leaders, the NGO would continue to fight for those children accused and stigmatized as 'witches'.
Children Learn What They Live (2005)
If a child lives with criticism, he learns to feel discouraged
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to feel angry
If a child lives with violence, he learns to feel afraid
If a child lives with dishonesty, he learns to feel suspicious
If a child lives with judgement, he learns to feel guilty
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to feel ashamed
If a child lives with disorder, he learns to feel confused
If a child lives with disappointment, he learns to feel helpless
If a child lives with silence, he learns to feel lonely
BUT
If a child lives with protection, he learns to feel safe
If a child lives with honesty, he learns to feel trustful
If a child lives with peace, he learns to feel calm
If a child lives with sharing, he learns to feel thankful
If a child lives with understanding, he learns to feel encouraged
If a child lives with laughter, he learns to feel happy
If a child lives with creativity, he learns to feel inspired
If a child lives with choice, he learns to feel free
If a child lives with community, he learns to feel supported
If a child lives with accomplishment, he learns to feel confident
If a child lives with meaning, he learns to feel fulfilled
If a child lives with love, he learns to feel tender
